MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

The Savour Ontario Dining program is an opportunity for fine dining and vacation dining restaurants that strive to meet and exceed expectations and offer the best of Ontario foods. Members of this program are committed to serving and identifying Ontario food items on their menu and selling and promoting Ontario foods.
To be accepted for Savour Ontario Dining membership, a Fine Dining, Upscale Casual Dining or Vacation Dining restaurant must:

  1. have a significant proportion of its menu focused on Ontario foods and beverages;
  2. provide an Internet link to its menu that features Ontario items;
  3. be willing to actively promote Ontario foods/beverages in its advertising;
  4. be open to supporting the concept of Savour Ontario Tasting Menus (including wine and food pairings);
  5. integrate the promotion of Ontario foods/beverage into its business model;
  6. agree to purchase Ontario products when available, particularly when freshness and
    quality are equal and price is competitive;
  7. ensure an appropriate staff/client ratio to ensure a quality dining experience; and
  8. either provide onsite accommodations or be willing to recommend a local accommodation partner (with Internet link).

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Fine Dining establishments offer upscale experiences. Attention to excellence and detail is evident in staff, design, menus and hospitality. Service is impeccable. Many of these restaurants are very elegant and employ talented chefs who have been trained at premier culinary schools.

Upscale Casual restaurants are restaurants which provide the experiences found in Fine Dining restaurants evident through service, staffing and hospitality, but in a more casual setting.

Vacation Dining restaurants are key elements of most Ontario vacation experiences. To qualify for membership, a Vacation Dining establishment must be tourism-based and enjoy critical acclaim integral to a regional culinary experience or association with a tourism property.
